School Update
We are now canvassing the parents of next year's students about potential interest in the "before and after school " programs so we can properly prepare for their children’s needs.
Our plan is to begin first full day of the school on Sept 13. We will also begin pre and after school for all participating St. George's school children that same day.
Starting the week of Oct 4, children in K and 1 from the wider community will be invited to join us to attend enrichment min courses with our staff and students between 2:30 -5:45. We are happy to provide this out-reach as it will allow us to offer a wider menu of courses. Of course, St George's students will be allowed priority in choosing courses.
At last Friday's at the Open house we met some new families with great kids who seemed happy to visit the classrooms and master some of the new apps on the Apple IPAD. We had a surprise guest, the web-master for the Sosara.org web site, who had spotted our new sign and dropped in to visit. He posted a nice piece today on his web site at www.sosara.org.
Unfortunately, the weather did not encourage exploration of the prayer path and future outdoors science lab. People are warmly welcomed to stroll with their families at any time. No reservations needed. There are maps of the trail at the Path entrance. To get to the closest parking, drive all around the east side of the Church buildings to the south side where there is parking. The entrance to the Prayer Path is about one hundred feet to the right at the edge of the woods under a wooden cross made from branches. On your way, you will see the Green Faith Garden (enclosed by a white picket fence) that the 6th and 7th grade Sunday school classes have been preparing for planting.
We have finished the second round of teacher interviews and met some excellent prospects. We hope to complete the hiring process in a few weeks. I know that all the parents are eager to meet their children's teachers so we will plan a "meet and greet" for all as soon as possible.
Stay in touch, let us know your ideas. Pray for wisdom to guide us as we continue to seek God’s will in this mission.
