  • Haiti Update 2/2012
    02/04/2012 - 8:00am

In March 2012, I will be returning to Haiti for my third trip since the earthquake hit in January 2009. This trip will be slightly different as I will be leading a team of engineers and scientist to our partner church of St. Philippe and St. Jacques in Corosse. The mission of this trip will be to begin construction of the water project and install solar panels to bring the first electricity to the school. At my company, AECOM, we have been doing fund raising to support this project and raised over $11,000.

  • Soup Kitchen Needs your Help
    02/04/2012 - 7:55am

Over the past couple decades; St. George‟s has been supporting the soup kitchen at Grace and Holy Innocents Church in downtown Albany. Our scheduled slot had always been the fourth Saturday of every month that had five Saturdays. Our youth group has done this and will go down in mass to help out, sometimes as many as six adults and a dozen kids. Recently, the soup kitchen has had a hard time finding people committed to serving the meals. On some Saturdays, there may only be three people (over the age of 70) preparing, serving and cleaning.
