Safe Church

In 2019 St. George's implemented the new “Safe Church” standards of The Episcopal Church for all our ministries at St. George’s. These standards are designed to make sure that the church is a place of welcome and safety for all ages, at all times.  As we put the new standards into effect there will be several changes to the way we operate, especially in our ministries to youth and children, these include:

1. Registration for ALL programs: Any child that will participate in any program at St. George’s must be registered. This includes Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, StoryMakers, and Confirmation class.

Register Here for All Children and Youth Programs

Completing this registration form once, will register your child for all programs.

2. Medical Release: If your child will be participating in any program when their parent or designated emergency contact will not be on church property (such as youth group, etc) then you will also have to submit a medical release form. These forms are available online, in the narthex, or in the church office.

3.  Sign-in and Sign-out: A parent or designated emergency contact will be required to sign students in and out of the Children’s classes and Youth Group activities.

4. Background Checks and Training: Safe Church requires that any one who ministry brings them into regular contact with children and youth, complete an application form and submit to a background check and training.  More information concerning who needs to complete these requirements and when will be forthcoming throughout the fall.
