So Others May Eat (S.O.M.E)

Sue Mehringer

Yes - this food pantry is open with COVID restrictions!

So Others May Eat (S.O.M.E) supports the Shenendehowa Helping Hands Food Pantry housed next to the Jonesville United Methodist Church (about 4 miles from St. Georges). This food pantry helps about 215 families from this immediate area.

St. George collects non-perishable food items. Look for the small wire grocery carts in the Narthex (worship space entry area) and Hatlee Hall (our parish hall) with the S.O.M.E signage.

They are seeking donations of shelf-stable food and non-food item (basically any item available from a grocery retailer or distributor). The items needed list for May includes: boxed potatoes (scalloped, au gratin etc.), canned chicken, condiments, salad dressing, juice and face masks.

This is an ongoing ministry - active every month of the year.
